Have been working hard on building our new birth center.  I will start seeing clients next week there!  Completion should be done in June:)

Just had a one day intensive childbirth class with first time moms.  It was a great class.

I love being a midwife!  Though sometimes it is challenging I would never trade what I do for anything else!  No matter how many births you have witnessed or been a part of it is always indescribably amazing.  We try to attatch words to it like, amazing, beautiful, profound, quiet, blissful, intense, empowering, serene(yes birth can be serene and intense at the same time). However I still haven't found the word that encompasses the experience all together.  I am so blessed to be a part of these families lives and to be the first one to touch their tiny little heads.

A season for boys!  Another boy 8 pounds 11 ounces born in my office at the Wellness Center.  Mom said it was her best birth out of the three she has had.  Thank you Lord!

Ever danced at a birth?  Well we did!  A missionary couple from Africa birthed here 2 days ago.  It was a perfect birth.  The couple were expecting their third daughter from an early ultrasound prediction, but alas as technology is not perfect they had a boy!  I've never seen a more excited Papa, he shouted and cried out with joy upon seeing this surprise!  There was not a dry eye in the room.  As per African tradition he talked us all into dancing with the new baby ( not mommy of course she was resting).  He wanted me to know that he would have loved a girl but a boy is what God promised him when they were first pregnant!  I still have tears in my eyes:)

We had a lovely birth at our center.  A big boy joined the family, making them even more complete.  He is growing rapidly and has gained back his birth weight in a week.  Breastfeeding...............what an amazing way to feed your baby.

Just returned from Chico for a great group meeting of Montana Midwives seeking to find ways to improve CNM and LM relationships and improve public perceptions of what midwifery is really about.  I'm so encouraged to see these women trying to be proactive together.  Thank you Mikelann for putting this together!

One beautiful baby boy was born this morning.  The birth was amazing, the mother stronger than she thinks and the father beaming.  Is there a better way to spend a night?  I don't think so.   I will add a picture hopefully tomorrow.
